Collason Fortune, known professionally as DJ Colmix or Colmix Madada, is a multifaceted Haitian artist—DJ, producer, writer, singer, and composer. A single father with a powerful drive, he is determined to show his child that with hard work, resilience, and passion, anything is possible.
DJ Colmix began his musical journey performing at small venues, gradually building a strong local presence. In 2014, his talent caught the attention of Henry Frantz David of Rugga Records Studio on Rue St. Honoré in Haiti. This pivotal connection sparked a creative surge between 2014 and 2016 and led to the formation of the collective TEAM MADADA. Their breakout collaboration, “Kote Plezi a Ye M Prale,” released in 2018, marked a significant milestone in his career.
In 2019, DJ Colmix captured wider attention with standout tracks like “Matel Boom” and “Mpa Gon Goud”, which resonated powerfully with audiences. A recent transplant to the United States, Colmix’s performance at the 2024 New York City’s West Indian Day Carnival/ Brooklyn Labor Day Parade on Eastern Parkway, along with his consistent appearances at Haiti’s National Carnival from 2019 to 2023, have cemented his influence both at home and abroad.
